Reinstalling Servers

In certain cases, it may become necessary to reinstall your server's operating system. You can request a reinstall at any time through your Customer Hub.
 

Before scheduling your reinstall, be sure that you have a recent backup of your data. The reinstall will involve formatting your hard drive, or even changing your hard drive completely. As such, your data will no longer be accessible.


It is possible to request your old hard disk to be attached to your server via USB. This will make it possible for you to access your data on your new operating system.


Classic Servers

A reinstall of a Classic Server typically takes between 24 and 48 hours, and costs $50. An urgent reinstall, completed within four hours, is also available for $100.

Make sure that your data is backed up. iWeb is not responsible for lost data.

To order a reinstall for your Classic Server, start by logging into your Customer Hub. Follow the normal steps for opening a ticket, but select 'OS / Control Panel Management'.

Then select 'Operating System'. If you already have a control panel such as Plesk or WHM installed, it will be automatically installed for you as part of the reinstall process.

Finally, select the operating system you desire. If you need help selecting an operating system to meet your needs, please feel free to contact our sales team at sales@iweb.com.

If you have any other requests, please be sure to note them in the text box.

You can also request an urgent reinstall by clicking on the checkbox. 

Finally, once you have filled out the form to your satisfaction, simply click on "Submit".  You will receive a confirmation by email.

Smart Servers

A reinstall of a Linux Smart Server with no control panel takes approximately 30 minutes, while a Linux Smart Server with WHM will take up to two hours. A Windows Smart Server reinstallation will require approximately two hours.

To order a reinstall for your Smart Server, start by logging into your Customer Hub. Select your server, and open the Software tab.

Here, you can can choose to reinstall your current setup, or you can choose to install a new operating system and control panel.

If you choose to reinstall, simply click the "Reinstall Current OS & Software options" menu item, and then click on "Reinstall".

If you choose to install a new operating system, click on the "Install New OS & Software options" menu item. Select the desired operating system and software options, and then click on "Install".

Cloud Servers

Cloud Servers are delivered as-is. You can delete and re-create your Cloud Server as necessary for a new installation. Please ensure your data is backed up, as any data stored on the Cloud Server will be deleted completely.
