Activating email filters

Expertise level: Easy

What are email filters?

Email filters are rules you add to the server for processing your mails.

You can redirect those mails which matches these rules to some other folder or destination, thus preventing them from entering your email inbox. This is a very useful feature for preventing spams from entering your inbox.

There are two types of filters you can setup from cPanel as described bellow:

  • "Account level filtering", applicable to all the emails destined to your domain(s).
  • "User level filtering", applicable for a particular email account only. User level filters are processed after the account level filters.

The cPanel procedures:

  2. Click on the "Account level filtering" button.
  3. Click on the "Create a new Filter" button, and add/edit the rules as your needs.
