cPanel/WHM migrations

There are three cPanel migration methods:

  1. Transfer of individual account using the account cPanel's password: When you do not have the source server's root password. You will need to do the migration of one account at a time.
  2. Transfer of individual account using the source server's root password: When you have the source server's root password and you only need to migrate one single account.
  3. Transfer of multiple accounts and packages: You must have the source server's root password. You can proceed with the migration of multiple accounts and packages in only one step.

1. Transfer of individual account using the account cPanel's password

You can transfer an account from another server to your server using WHM. To do this the only thing you need is the cPanel account's username and password.

Follow these easy steps to do the transfer:

  1. Log on to your WHM as root (Destination server).
  2. Go to the "Transfers" section.
  3. Click on "Copy an account from another server with account password".
  4. Fill up the required fields with remote account details and FTP details.
  5. Click on "Copy Account".

Wait until the transfer wizard finishes and you are done!

2. Transfer of individual account using the source server's root password

It is possible to copy an account from another server using the root password.

Follow this procedure:

  1. Log on to your WHM as root (Destination server).
  2. Go to the "Transfers" section.
  3. Click on "Copy an account from another server".
  4. Fill up the required fields with remote server's details.
  5. Click on "Transfer Account" and wait until the transfer wizard finishes.

Note:

If the "Permit root login" is disabled in the server source's SSH configuration, you must also enter the username and password of a user who is part of the "Wheel group (su)" in the "Authentication" section.

3. Transfer of multiple accounts and packages

You can transfer multiple accounts and packages from another cPanel server.

Follow this procedure:

  1. Log on to your WHM as root.
  2. Go to the "Transfers" section.
  3. Click on "Copy multiple accounts/packages from another server".
  4. Enter the remote server's root and SSH login information.
  5. Click on "Fetch account list".
  6. Then select all the accounts you need to transfer from the list. Make sure to transfer the packages associated with these accounts as well.
  7. Click "Copy" to start transfer.

Wait for transfer completion message.

Note:

If the "Permit root login" is disabled in the server source's SSH configuration, you must also enter the username and password of a user who is part of the "Wheel group (su)" in the "Authentication" section.
