Upgrading to R1Soft v5 from R1Soft v2 - Cloud technology backups

Upgrading to R1Soft v5 has many benefits. The user interface is improved, the cost of backup is more economical and the whole process is simple and easy to complete. The first step is to close your existing R1Soft v2 account.

NOTE:  iWeb will keep data from previous accounts for seven days. Therefore we recommend you close your existing account once you confirm your most recent backup was successful and you are able to activate your upgrade to R1Soft v5 without delay. Once you are ready to begin, follow these steps: 

Decommission  R1Soft v2

Classic Dedicated Servers

  1. Log into your account at account.iweb.com and select your server.
  2. Click on Financials.

  3. Go to the Hosted Backup line item and click on 'Cancel'.

  4. Confirm your choice and click 'Submit'.

To sign up for R1Soft cloud technology solution, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your account at account.iweb.com and select your server.
  2. Click on 'More Assistance' from the menu.

  3. Click on 'Add or change service' and select 'Cloud Backup'.

  4. Select the amount of backup data space and include any notes for our technical team. Read and check the acknowledgement notice and click 'Submit'.

  5. Wait for the confirmation screen. Once you see the Success checkmark, a ticket has been created. An iWeb technical advisor will contact you to complete the request.

Smart Servers

  1. Log into your account at account.iweb.com and select your Smart Server.
  2. Click on the Backup Service menu.

  3. Click the ON button. A warning note will appear and it will read 'OFF'. Click 'Next'.

  4. Confirm your request to terminate R1Soft v2 by clicking 'Confirm'.

  5. From this screen you are able to subscribe to the upgraded R1Soft backup service after confirming your request by clicking on the blue button.  If you would like to do this at a later time, click 'Close'.

To sign up for R1Soft cloud technology solution, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your account at account.iweb.com and select your Smart Server. Go to the Smart Services tab.

  2. Click the 'Off' button to bring it to 'On'.

  3. Select the amount of backup data space using the horizontal bar and click 'Next'.

  4. Read the conditions and click 'Confirm'.
